1 Peter 1:2b

2b Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

2 Corinthians 4:15

15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

eter greeted the readers of his epistle, God's elect, by wishing spiritual blessings: "Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied" (v.2b).

It is interesting to note that in all the apostolic greetings where grace and peace appears, grace precedes peace (2 Peter 1:2; 1 Timothy 1:2; 2 Timothy 1:2; 2 John 3). None can know the peace of God without first experiencing the work of God's grace in their hearts. Everyone who receives God's grace will also receive the result of God's grace, which is peace.

Peter said, "grace and peace be multiplied." Christians are like vessels that are to be abundantly filled with God’s grace. These spiritual blessings will always abound in the lives of God's elect even when they are persecuted and rid of all physical possessions and comfort. This is why Paul said, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7).

The Scripture assures us in many ways that the divine grace shall never cease flowing to His people, and therefore peace is theirs to enjoy at all times. When we consider the following scriptural descriptions of divine grace toward us, we can only wonder at our ceaseless blessings from God! (Read the following Bible verses that you may see on your own the descriptions of divine grace toward you).

2 Corinthians 4:15       -   Abounding grace (Cf. 2 Corinthians 9:8).

2 Corinthians 12:9       -   Sufficient grace

Ephesians 2:7              -   exceedingly rich grace (Cf. Ephesians 1:7)

1 Timothy 1:14            -   exceedingly abundant grace (Cf. 2 Corinthians 9:14)

2 Timothy 2:1              -   strengthening grace

The Father has chosen us, the Son has sprinkled us with His blood and the Spirit has sanctified us through His Word. What a glorious life does the Triune God now offer us, as He promises us with His ever-flowing grace to strengthen our hearts with peace that we may live victoriously above temptations and trials.

"Wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me."

"Multiply Thy grace in me today, O Lord, as Thou hath promised that Thy peace may guard myheart through all the trials and challenges that are before me. Amen."
